To make a birthday rap video, type their name, age and fun facts on Birthday Rap, get free lyrics and a song, add a photo, pay once ($9.90 per video).
The lyrics are free, and so is your first song each day. About 5 minutes later you get a 15-second, vertical 9:16 MP4 with sound. The person in the photo wears a gold party crown on a balloon throne with a cake and raps a birthday song that says their name. No app, no account, ready to send the same day.
What you need
- Their name and the age they are turning. Both go into the lyrics.
- Two or three fun facts. The thing they always say, their terrible dance moves, the team they love, the year they finally learned to drive.
- One photo of one person, face clearly visible. JPG, PNG, WebP or iPhone HEIC, at least 300 pixels on each side. An older photo is fine if the face is sharp.
- The right to use it. Either a photo of yourself, or of an adult who agreed. No celebrities, no real rappers, no minors.
- An email address for checkout. The video link is sent there.
Who should be in the photo?
You have two good options:
- The birthday person raps their own birthday song. They get the crown and the throne. This is the funniest version, but you need their OK to use their photo, so it suits a birthday you plan together, or someone who will love it.
- You rap it to them. Upload your own photo and rap the song with their name in it. No permission needed, and the surprise stays a surprise.
For a child's birthday, use option 2: a parent or older sibling raps it. Photos of minors are not allowed.
Step 1: Get the birthday lyrics and song (free)
On the Birthday Rap page the vibe starts on Birthday and the beat on Pop rap. Fill in:
- Who's rapping? The name that goes in the song: "Grandma Rose", "Uncle Dre", "Mia".
- What's it about? The age and the details: "turning 80, makes the best lasagna, still beats everyone at cards".
Tap Write my lyrics. The AI writes a verse and a chorus with the name, the age and your details. Change anything; AI drafts are free up to 30 a day and hand edits are unlimited. To write your own, choose I have my own lyrics and paste them, with [Verse] and [Chorus] on their own lines. Ready-made lines for mom, dad, a best friend and more are in happy birthday rap lyrics.
This is the kind of chorus that works, from our sample for Grandma Rose:
Grandma Rose is eighty, running the show
Crown on her head, cake aglow
Keep Pop rap or switch to trap, boom bap, drill, latin trap or Comedy, pick a male or female voice, and tap Make my song · Free. About a minute later you can play the whole song. Your first song each day is free, and each video you buy adds 2 more songs, which helps when the family has several birthdays coming up. Lyrics can be in English, Spanish, Portuguese or French.
Step 2: Pick the 15 seconds
Slide the selector and tap Play this part. For birthdays, the chorus is almost always the right pick: it says the name, it is catchy, and it is what people sing along to. A line with the age is a close second.
Step 3: Choose the scene, add the photo and pay
| Scene | What you get |
|---|---|
| Balloon throne | A gold party crown, an ornate chair, a wall of gold, pink and green balloons and a lit cake |
| Party booth | A recording booth dressed up for a party |
Upload the photo, confirm you have the right to use it, and pay once with Apple Pay, Google Pay or a card. No subscription, no sign-up. The video starts by itself, and the link is emailed to you as well.
How to give it
- Send the link or the MP4 in the family group chat on the morning of the birthday.
- Play it at dinner on a phone or a TV before the cake comes out.
- Post it on TikTok, Reels or Shorts with a caption like "POV: your bestie made you a birthday rap".
Because it takes about 5 minutes, it works even if you remembered the birthday an hour ago.
